Your Data Protection Rights

Last updated: 26 August 2026

As a CheckChess user, you have clear rights regarding your personal data under the GDPR (EU Regulation 2016/679). You can exercise any of these rights at any time, free of charge, by emailing contact@chessnewlife.com. We respond within 30 days.

The data controller is ANSIROMAT S.R.L. (CUI RO54628331, Trade Register no. J2026029828003), Sat Jilava, Comuna Jilava, Șos. Giurgiului, Nr. 29, Ilfov County, Romania.

1. Right of Access

You can request a copy of all the data we hold about you: email, analysis history (account scans and OTB reports), AI chat history, watchlist entries and subscription summary.

How to exercise it: send an email with the subject 'Data Access Request' from the address associated with your account.

If you use the App as a guest: a guest session has no email address, so we cannot verify that a request comes from its owner and cannot release the data. To exercise these rights over a guest session, convert it into a full account in the app first — your history is preserved when you do. Otherwise, deleting the App permanently removes your own access to that session.

2. Right to Rectification

If your data is inaccurate or incomplete, you can have it corrected. For anything you cannot change directly in the app, email us and we will correct it.

3. Right to Erasure ('Right to Be Forgotten')

You can request deletion of your account and all associated data. Your data is removed when you delete your account, with residual copies purged within 30 days — except for data we are legally required to retain (e.g. accounting records — 10 years under Romanian fiscal law).

How to exercise it: from the app (Settings → Delete account) or by email.

4. Right to Data Portability

You can receive your data (email, analysis history, chat history, watchlist entries) in a structured, machine-readable format (JSON), and transfer it to another service.

5. Right to Restriction of Processing

You can ask us to 'freeze' the use of your data while we verify a dispute or complaint.

6. Right to Object

You can object to processing based on our legitimate interest. This covers both ways in which we process public chess data:

7. Right to Withdraw Consent

If you have consented to any optional processing (such as marketing communications), you can withdraw that consent at any time without any negative effect on your access to the service.

8. Right to Lodge a Complaint

If you believe your data is not being handled correctly, you can lodge a complaint with your national data protection authority.

In Romania: ANSPDCP (National Supervisory Authority for Personal Data Processing)

EU users may also contact the supervisory authority in their country of residence.
