These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") govern your use of the CheckChess application (the "App"), available on iOS and Android. By creating an account or using any feature of the App, you agree to these Terms in full. If you do not agree with any provision, please do not use the App.
CheckChess is a chess game-integrity analysis platform operated by:
CheckChess analyses chess games for statistical signals of possible engine assistance. It provides:
The App sends push notifications for watchlist alerts, and notifications on your device when a deep analysis finishes. You can turn notifications off at any time from your device settings, without losing any other feature.
Analysis results are statistical signals only and are not definitive proof of cheating. They express a probabilistic estimate based on game data. You agree not to present CheckChess output as proof of wrongdoing and not to use it to publicly accuse, defame or harass any individual.
To use CheckChess you must:
If you are between 13 and 16 years of age, you must obtain the consent of a parent or legal guardian before registering and before making any purchases.
You can use CheckChess without registering, as a guest. A guest session is an anonymous account created automatically on your device, with tighter limits (see section 5.1) and no access to the AI chat or the watchlist.
A guest session has no email address and no password, which has one consequence worth knowing before you rely on it: it exists only on that installation. If you delete the App, sign out, or lose the device, neither you nor we can recover that session or its analysis history, because no credential identifies you as its owner.
You can convert a guest session into a full account at any time from the app. Your existing history is preserved when you do.
You can create a free account with an email address and password. You are responsible for: keeping your password confidential, all activity carried out through your account, and notifying us immediately if you suspect unauthorised access.
We may suspend or delete your account, without prior notice, if you: violate these Terms, use the App for fraudulent or illegal activities, or use it to harass or abuse other people.
You may delete your account at any time from Settings → Delete account in the app, or by emailing contact@chessnewlife.com.
Users without a subscription have access to the following, per calendar month:

Guest and free counters reset on the first day of each calendar month (UTC).
Premium is offered on two plans:

Both plans include unlimited account scans, unlimited OTB analyses, full detailed reports, up to 10 watchlist accounts, and a PRO badge.
The prices above are those charged in the euro area. The amount you pay is the one your store shows for your country, which may differ; taxes are handled by the store. We may change prices with 30 days' prior notice.
The Weekly plan is offered with a 3-day free trial to subscribers who have not used it before. Unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the trial ends, the paid subscription begins automatically when the trial ends. The weekly AI allowance resets on each weekly renewal; the yearly allowance resets on the subscription's own anniversary, not on 1 January.
Purchases are made exclusively through the platform stores: on iOS, payments are processed by the Apple App Store; on Android, by Google Play. Apple or Google collects the payment and handles applicable taxes; we never see your card details. Subscription state is managed on our behalf by RevenueCat, Inc. The subscription renews automatically at the end of each billing period unless cancelled at least 24 hours before it ends. You can cancel at any time from your App Store / Play Store account settings; Premium remains active until the end of the current billing period. If your subscription cannot be verified, Premium features may be disabled until the issue is resolved.
Refunds for App Store / Play Store purchases are managed exclusively by Apple / Google according to their policies and must be requested through them; we have no control over their decisions. If you are a consumer in the EU, the 14-day right of withdrawal applies as provided by the store through which you purchased; by starting the subscription immediately you consent to performance beginning at once.

All CheckChess content — design, logo, source code, analysis methodology, text and reports — is our property or that of our licensors, and is protected by copyright law.
Stockfish is used under the GPLv3 licence; the compiled engine binary is included in the App and the full Stockfish source is available at github.com/official-stockfish/Stockfish. Chess.com and Lichess are trademarks of their respective owners; CheckChess is not affiliated with or endorsed by them.
We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use the App for personal, non-commercial purposes. You may not: copy, redistribute or sell any part of the App, reverse-engineer its source code (except Stockfish, per its licence), or use our content for commercial purposes without our written consent.
We strive to keep the App available 24/7, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted availability. Account scans additionally depend on the public APIs of Chess.com and Lichess, and AI chat on our model provider, all outside our control. There may be maintenance windows, updates or unforeseen technical issues. We are not liable for losses caused by temporary unavailability of the service.
To the fullest extent permitted by law:
Nothing in these Terms excludes liability for death, personal injury or fraud caused by our direct fault, or any liability that cannot be excluded under mandatory consumer law of your country of residence.
We may update these Terms at any time. We will notify you at least 14 days before material changes take effect via a notice in the app and/or an email to your account address. If you disagree with the new Terms, you may delete your account before the effective date. Continued use after that date constitutes acceptance of the changes.
These Terms are governed by Romanian law. Any dispute will first be addressed through amicable resolution. If no agreement is reached, the competent courts of Romania shall have jurisdiction, except where mandatory consumer-law provisions of your country of residence grant you more favourable rights.
